Starting with a business problem

After completing the OMA course, Ray saw an opportunity to help a friend whose business had an outdated website. In his account, the site was poorly structured and no longer reflected the professionalism of the business.

Ray researched the industry before deciding what to build. He improved the content and marketing angles, created AI-generated visuals, and added ways for visitors to ask questions through WhatsApp and an AI chatbot. He built a demonstration before making the offer, giving his friend something concrete to assess.

Turning the demonstration into a paid project

Ray reports agreeing on a four-figure package, payable in four equal monthly instalments. The scope included a website revamp, additional service pages, six months of maintenance and WhatsApp integration. It also included complimentary chatbot integration and an analysis of the existing advertising campaign, with subsequent advertising management for an additional small fee.

He says he launched the site within one to two weeks, resolved domain issues and reviewed advertising data alongside the website work. The project involved research, implementation and client communication as well as using AI tools.

What Ray reported afterwards

Ray says the business began receiving WhatsApp messages, calls and chatbot enquiries within a week of the new site launching, after a period of limited activity. By the time he shared his story, he reported receiving two payments.

These are Ray’s observations. They do not establish which enquiries were caused by the website changes or how much profit either party earned.

What a prospective learner can take from this

Ray’s account illustrates a practical sequence: understand a business problem, build something the client can evaluate, agree a defined scope and deliver the work. AI supported parts of that process; Ray still had to research the business, make decisions and follow through.

This is an individual, participant-reported experience. It has not been independently audited and is not a promise of earnings or a measure of typical student outcomes.
